Kaspersky warns phishing scams targeting Spider-Man: New Day ticket pre‑sales in Latin America

Kaspersky alerts that the anticipation for the film *Spider‑Man: New Day* is being exploited by cybercriminals who set up fraudulent ticket‑pre‑sale pages, bogus contests and links promising early viewing of the movie. The fake sites mimic the design, colors and logos of legitimate cinema chains and official retailers, often using AI to make the pages look authentic. Victims who attempt to purchase tickets may unwittingly hand over banking details, passwords and personal information, which can later be used for further fraud.

The security firm notes that a significant share of Latin American internet users lack the skills to spot these scams—about 34 % cannot recognize a false website, 21 % fail to identify a fraudulent email, and 11 % do not know how to verify a site’s legitimacy. Kaspersky advises fans to avoid clicking unsolicited links, to verify URLs on official cinema or retailer sites, and to use trusted payment methods to protect their data.
