Kassa consumer program to transition to online-only format
The Dutch consumer journalism program Kassa will transition to an online-only format following its current television season. Originally slated for cancellation due to public broadcasting budget cuts, the decision to move the program online follows significant public and societal feedback.
BNNVARA content director Suzanne Kunzeler expressed satisfaction with the outcome, noting that the NPO reconsidered its position after hearing public signals. The program, which has been active since 1989, is currently nominated for a Gouden Televizier-Ring award for best television program.
Presenter Tim Hofman, who also hosts the investigative program BOOS, highlighted the advantages of an online format, noting the freedom from fixed time slots and the ability to publish content whenever necessary. Presenter Amber Kortzorg also welcomed the news of the program's continuation. The final television broadcast of Kassa is scheduled for December 5.
