Kassel City Hall wedding hall undergoes 400,000 EUR renovation

Renovations have begun on the wedding hall located in the Kassel City Hall. The project, costing approximately 400,000 EUR, involves updating the hall and its foyer. Work includes repairing a historical reinforced concrete ceiling that was found to have exposed steel reinforcement, as well as replacing the flooring.

The modernization will introduce a new ventilation system with room cooling, updated furniture, improved lighting, and enhanced acoustics. The redesigned space will accommodate up to 25 guests and feature a color concept incorporating blue accents from the Kassel city coat of arms. Due to the construction, weddings will be held in a temporary location in the South Tower or at eight alternative sites outside the City Hall. Completion is expected by the end of spring 2027, with the hall reopening for ceremonies in summer 2027.
