Kassel infrastructure expansion leaves narrow path for cyclists
In Kassel, the expansion of Forstbachweg between Waldau and Forstfeld has resulted in a temporary infrastructure gap. Due to a small plot of land that the city does not yet own, the newly expanded road lacks continuous, physically separated paths for cyclists and pedestrians.
Following the Wahlebach bridge toward Waldau, the paths are narrowed and merged into a single strip approximately 50 centimeters wide. This bottleneck forces cyclists and pedestrians to share a small space directly alongside the road until they reach the bus stop near the police station, where the paths become separated again.
