Kastamonu launches social support projects for families and children
In Kastamonu, Turkey, two distinct social support initiatives have been launched to assist families and individuals with special needs.
The ‘Hayata Katıl’ (Join Life) project in the Taşköprü district provides vocational and social opportunities for children with special needs and their mothers. Supported by the Ministry of Interior, the program allows children to learn basic culinary skills, such as preparing cakes and salads, while their mothers participate in recycling workshops to create decorative items. Proceeds from the sale of the mothers' recycled products will be used to support the needs of individuals with special needs.
Additionally, the ‘Bir Bebek Bin Bereket’ (One Baby, A Thousand Blessings) project has been established through a protocol between the Kastamonu Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services and the Kastamonu MÜSİAD branch. This initiative provides one year of essential supplies, including diapers and baby formula, to couples who have utilized interest-free marriage loans from the Ministry of Family and Social Services and have since had children. The project aims to support families and address declining birth rates in the region.
