Kastamonu local products to reach national markets via Migros
The Kastamonu Governor's Office has signed a cooperation protocol with Migros to bring the region's geographically indicated local products to national and international markets. The initiative, led by Governor Meftun Dallı, aims to support local producers and women's cooperatives by enhancing their production and supply chain processes.
Key objectives of the agreement include increasing product diversity, raising the added value of branded local goods, and ensuring sustainable production. The first wave of products to appear on Migros shelves will include siyez bulgur, siyez flour, siyez flour cookies, natural mushroom products, various marmalades and vinegars produced by women's cooperatives, Taşköprü garlic, Tosya rice, and chestnut honey.
Officials noted that the implementation phase will focus on supply chain management, product standardization, and packaging to ensure local goods meet market requirements.
