Kastamonu, Turkey highway crash kills two, injures four

A traffic accident on the D100 highway near the town of Tosya in Kastamonu province resulted in two fatalities and four injuries. The vehicle, an Opel with licence plate 34 FLB 192 driven by S. Ö., lost control, struck a water canal and rolled over, dragging for several metres.

Two occupants, identified as N. Ö. and E. Ö., died at the scene. The driver and three passengers – S. Ö., A. Ö. and another E. Ö. – were rescued by fire‑fighter teams, received first‑aid on site and were later transferred to Tosya State Hospital. Police, gendarmerie, road‑maintenance and municipal crews cleared the wreckage, reopened the road and launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.
