Kastamonu University patents magnetic biochar made from pea shells
Researchers Doç. Dr. Gökçe Didar Değermenci and Neslihan Kader at Kastamonu University developed a magnetic biochar by applying a hydrothermal process to agricultural pea‑shell waste. The material acquires magnetic properties that enable easy separation with a magnet after use. The Turkish Patent and Trademark Office granted a patent for the biochar, recognizing its novel production method.
