Kastamonu University students hold nature hike event

Students from Kastamonu University participated in a nature hike organized by the university’s Nature, Sport, and Addiction Combat Club. The event, titled ‘Youth Meeting to Increase Nature Sports and Environmental Awareness,’ took place at the Şehit Şerife Bacı Nature Park and the Kadı Dağı Training Center.

Supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports through the University Student Communities Support Program (ÜNİDES), the activity involved a 15-kilometer trek led by Academic Advisor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Evren Atış. During the hike, students and academics received information regarding the local flora and fauna, specifically focusing on Turkish pine and black pine species within the protected area.

The initiative aimed to promote healthy physical activity and foster an appreciation for nature and photography among the youth.
