Kastamonu wolf attack kills 18 sheep and injures 11 others

In the Hacı Muharrem village of Kastamonu, Turkey, a wolf attack resulted in the death of 18 sheep and left 11 others seriously injured. The incident occurred around 05:00 when three wolves jumped over the fences of a pen belonging to the Sarıcıoğlu family.

Many of the affected animals were pregnant, and some died along with their unborn offspring. Due to the severity of the injuries, the owners were forced to slaughter some of the wounded sheep.

Teams from the Kastamonu Nature Conservation and National Parks Directorate arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation and document the event. The affected family and the village headman, Kadir Çavdarcı, have requested financial assistance from state authorities, noting that the family relies on sheep farming for their livelihood.
