Kastamonuspor president removed following management dispute
A leadership crisis has unfolded at the Turkish football club Kastamonuspor. Club president Cevat Şenkardeşler initiated the conflict by announcing the dismissal of Sporting Director Şakir Akın and calling for the resignations of Vice President Mert Paflak and board members Sanıl Ahu Bahar and Cengiz Öyurt.
In response, the Kastamonuspor Board of Directors voted to remove Şenkardeşler from his position. The board issued a statement claiming that Şenkardeşler failed to fulfill the promises and commitments made to the board and the Kastamonu community since taking office on July 22, 2026. The board further stated that he failed to manage the club with the necessary responsibility and representation required of the presidency.
Mert Paflak has been appointed as the new president of the club.
