Kastelruther Spatzen singer criticizes German Schlager TV shows
Norbert Rier, the frontman of the musical group Kastelruther Spatzen, has expressed criticism regarding major German Schlager television formats. In an interview with Schlager.de, the 66-year-old musician voiced concerns over the guest selection process for popular programs such as ‘Schlagerboom’ and the ‘Giovanni Zarrella Show’.
Rier suggested that record companies and media outlets exert significant influence over which artists are permitted to appear on television, effectively closing doors to many other performers. Additionally, he criticized the high-production value of primetime formats, such as those hosted by Florian Silbereisen, stating that excessive lighting effects distract from the musical performances and diminish the actual enjoyment of the music.
