Kastoria celebrates Saint Nicholas with transfer of Saint Demetrios' relics

The Holy Metropolis of Kastoria held religious celebrations on August 6 and 7 to honor Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, the patron saint of children. The events were attended by several high-ranking clergy, including the Metropolitans of Thessaloniki and Dryinoupolis, Konitsa, and Kastoria.

A notable feature of this year's celebration was the transfer of the Holy Relics of Saint Demetrios the Myroblyte from Thessaloniki to Kastoria. The relics were brought by Metropolitan Philotheos of Thessaloniki and were officially received at the Church of Saint Nicholas with religious services and ceremonies.

In addition to the religious leaders, the ceremonies were attended by the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis. The services were broadcast live via the Metropolis of Kastoria's website, ecclesiastical television, and various radio stations.
