Kastrakis Wine Festival holds memorial for Tempi victims

During the Wine Festival in Kastrakis, a memorial table was set to honor three young women who lost their lives in the Tempi railway accident on February 28, 2023.

The table, decorated with a white tablecloth, a bottle of wine, and three pink roses, featured empty chairs in memory of Thomi, Chrysa, and Anastasia. Thomi and Chrysa were twin sisters, while Anastasia was their cousin. The local association organized the tribute to ensure the women were remembered in the community where they had spent much of their lives.

Martha Karali-Plakia, the mother of 19-year-old Anastasia, expressed the emotional weight of the gesture, noting that the empty seats serve as a reminder of those taken by the tragedy.
