Kat Dennings recalls intense six-hour Mad Max audition with Tom Hardy

Actress Kat Dennings has shared details regarding an intense, six-hour audition for George Miller’s ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’. The audition involved a chemistry read with Tom Hardy, who eventually secured the lead role of Max Rockatansky.

Dennings described the experience as an exhausting acting exercise that included switching roles, moving through different spaces, and a difficult task where actors were instructed to communicate through sounds and vocalizations rather than the written dialogue.

Following the lengthy session, Dennings recalled that Hardy offered to drive her home to her parents' house because she did not have a car at the time. She described the actor as being “so lovely” during the ride and his subsequent meeting with her mother.
