Katalin Novák appears at health festival representing family clinic

Former Hungarian President Katalin Novák made her first public appearance following her resignation at the inaugural EgészségFeszt in Szeged. Representing Aranyklinika, a private medical company operated by her family, Novák demonstrated the IMBODY smart exercise machine, an AI-supported device offering over 500 exercises.

Novák joined Aranyklinika in November 2023, holding a 25 percent ownership stake in the family business. The company has seen significant revenue growth, rising from 520 million HUF in 2021 to 1.6 billion HUF by 2024. Due to her transition into the private sector, she no longer receives the monthly 5.7 million HUF honorarium designated for former presidents.

Her resignation in February 2024 followed a political controversy regarding a pardon granted to Endre K., a former official convicted of assisting in the cover-up of pedophilic crimes. A parliamentary investigative committee is currently examining the circumstances surrounding the pardon, with plans to hear testimony from several high-profile figures.
