Katarina Ivanišin's 'Između tragova' exhibition opens in Dubrovnik
Artist Katarina Ivanišin opened her solo exhibition ‘Između tragova’ at the TUP venue in Dubrovnik on Monday, 3 August, with an opening ceremony at 20:00. The show runs until 30 August and presents works from her two recent series, ‘Isto nebo’ and ‘Prolaz’, which explore the relationship between humans and nature using varied painting techniques and materials.
‘Isto nebo’ was previously shown at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb and at Stelline in Milan, while ‘Prolaz’ was recently exhibited at the Flora Gallery in Dubrovnik. After the Dubrovnik run, the exhibition will travel to the Gallery of Artworks of the National Museum in Zadar. Curator Petra Golušić described the exhibition as a meditation on peace and a metaphysical desert in the painted scenes. Ivanišin, born in Dubrovnik in 1975, studied at the City and Guilds of London Art School and the Royal College of Art, taught painting in London, and has worked as a museum educator and consultant in Croatia. Her works are held in public and private collections in Croatia, the United Kingdom and elsewhere.
