Katarzyna Niewiadoma-Phinney finishes sixth at European Cycling Championships

Katarzyna Niewiadoma-Phinney finished sixth in the European Road Cycling Championships after a crash on the final corner. Despite competing for a medal until the end, the Polish cyclist fell without contact from other competitors, preventing her from reaching the lead group.

Demi Vollering of the Netherlands won the race after launching an attack 14 kilometers from the finish. She was followed by Puck Pieterse in second place and Marlen Reusser of Switzerland in third.

Prior to the event, Niewiadoma-Phinney had expressed a strong desire to focus on the European Championships to overcome the mental and physical fatigue following her recent silver medal at the World Championships and her performance in the Tour de France.
