Prince William and Kate attend Tom Cruise film premiere in London

Prince William and Princess Kate attended the London premiere of Tom Cruise’s new film, ‘Digger’, at Leicester Square on September 22. The appearance drew significant attention due to a moment where Cruise extended his hand to assist the Princess of Wales as she descended a flight of stairs. While the gesture was viewed by many as a gentlemanly act, it sparked discussion regarding royal protocol, which traditionally advises against physical contact with members of the monarchy.

Princess Kate’s attire also became a focal point, as she wore a purple Jenny Packham gown paired with the Queen Mother’s 103-year-old amethyst sautoir necklace and diamond pearl earrings previously belonging to Princess Diana.

Tom Cruise praised the royal couple during a subsequent appearance on ‘The Graham Norton Show’, describing them as ‘amazing’ and ‘very charismatic’. The event was held in support of the Film and TV Charity.
