Kate Middleton announces nature-based early childhood project
Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, has announced a new initiative through the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood focused on the benefits of nature for child development. Accompanied by a series of portraits taken by photographer Josh Shinner in Cornwall, the Princess emphasized the importance of outdoor time in a digital age.
The project aims to investigate how natural environments can support the social and emotional development of infants and young children by applying scientific research to natural spaces. The initiative is supported by the Duchy of Cornwall, led by Prince William, as a founding partner.
The announcement follows a survey by the Centre for Early Childhood indicating that while 84% of parents believe nature benefits their children's development, only 33% report that their children spend time in nature daily.
