Kate Middleton criticized for horse hobby, joins family at Commonwealth Games

Princess Kate received a sharp warning early in her relationship with Prince William, being told she was "marrying into the wrong family" because she showed little interest in the royal hobby of polo and horses. The comment, reported by royal correspondent Simon Vigara, stemmed from an incident where a young Catherine was seen hiding in a tent at a polo match and admitted she was not a horse enthusiast. Kate later revealed she is allergic to horses and has tried immunotherapy to lessen the reaction.

In August, the Duke and Duchess of Wales attended the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, accompanied by their three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis—marking the children's first official appearance in Scotland. The family presented a coordinated outfit scheme, with Kate and Charlotte wearing matching white‑blue ensembles and the boys in coordinated shirts and trousers. The appearance highlighted the royal family's public engagement at the sporting event.
