Royal family at Wimbledon as Arthur Fery invites Prince George and Princess Charlotte to play tennis

British wildcard Arthur Fery, age 24, reached the men’s singles semi‑final at Wimbledon 2026, becoming the first British wildcard to do so in the Open Era. After the final, where Jannik Sinner defeated Alexander Zverev, Fery met Prince William and Princess Catherine (the Princess of Wales) and received a birthday card from the couple. He told the Princess, “if her kids ever wanted to hit, I’m free,” inviting Prince George and Princess Charlotte to a future tennis session.

Prince William, Kate and their children arrived at the All England Club for the men’s final and later watched the women’s final, where Linda Noskova beat Karolina Muchová. Kate, patron of the All England Club, presented the men’s trophy and later the women’s trophy, and has attended Wimbledon annually since 2011. During her visit she discussed her youngest son, Prince Louis, who expressed a wish to become a ball‑boy at the tournament.
