Kateřina Šmejkalová to design costumes for StarDance

Kateřina Šmejkalová, founder of the Czech atelier NOSME, has been named the lead costume designer for the new season of StarDance. Her studio specializes in custom attire for dancers, figure skaters, gymnasts, and theatrical productions.

Šmejkalová noted that the design process is driven by the music, story, and emotions of the performance. To ensure functionality, the costumes must support choreography and remain secure during movement. The atelier utilizes high-quality materials, such as Japanese chiffon, Italian fabrics, and Austrian lace, often involving hundreds of hours of manual work to apply thousands of rhinestones.
