Katerina Papoutsaki joins cast of period drama Derby

Greek actress Katerina Papoutsaki is set to join the cast of the ANT1 period series ‘Derby’. She will portray the sister of the former wife of Alekos Avramidis, a character played by Tasos Nousias. Her arrival is expected to disrupt the existing dynamics between Alekos and Xenia, played by Klelia Renesi, in the story set in Patras.

Filming for her role has already commenced, with episodes expected to air on ANT1 after Christmas. Given Papoutsaki’s recent focus on singing alongside her acting career, there is speculation that her musical talents may be integrated into the series to suit the historical setting, though this has not been officially confirmed.

In a recent interview on the program ‘To Proino’, Papoutsaki discussed her career evolution, noting her transition from theater, film, and television to also performing on stage as a singer. She expressed satisfaction with her current life balance between her professional pursuits and her role as a mother of two.
