Katerini officials meet with school directors to coordinate new management model

The Municipality of Katerini held a working meeting with school directors and educational officials to coordinate preparations for the upcoming school year. The meeting, attended by Mayor Ioannis Doumos and Deputy Mayor Elina Diamantopoulou, focused on ensuring a smooth transition to a new management model following the abolition of School Committees.

Key topics discussed included operational expenses, heating, stationery, and minor maintenance. Deputy Mayor Diamantopoulou reported that cleaning and maintenance work on school buildings is in its final stages. The municipality committed to prioritizing school needs and suggested organizing joint cultural activities between the municipality and schools, noting that Education and Culture are now managed under the same deputy mayorate.
