Katharina Fegebank to participate in German Navy training

Hamburg's Second Mayor and Environment Senator, Katharina Fegebank, will participate in a week-long training exercise at the Mürwik Naval School in Flensburg. During the program, which is designed for civilian leaders, Fegebank will hold the rank of ‘Oberleutnant zur See’.

The exercise aims to provide civilian officials with deeper insights into the operations of the German Navy through briefings, lectures, and practical activities, including viewing a submarine. Fegebank stated that the program is important due to the increasing threat landscape facing Germany and expressed her desire to support the Bundeswehr in its role as a defender of democracy.
