Katharina Zaparoli’s political satire account banned on Instagram

Katharina Zaparoli, a 27-year-old actress and writer from São Paulo, has seen her Instagram profile ‘A Bobo da Corte’ banned. The account, which had nearly 430,000 followers and reportedly reached 30 million people, utilized political satire and metaphors to critique the Brazilian political landscape.

Zaparoli used the persona of a court jester to address sensitive national issues through fables and allegories. Her content frequently alluded to the Brazilian Supreme Federal Court (STF) and developments involving Banco Master and Minister Alexandre de Moraes, though she avoided using direct names.

Following the ban, Zaparoli expressed concerns regarding censorship and perceived targeting, noting that her recent posts addressed accusations and threats she had received. She questioned the decision to remove her account while other users spreading hate speech remained active on the platform.
