Kathryn Newton says Ant‑Man 4 depends on fan demand

Actress Kathryn Newton, who plays Cassie Lang in the Ant‑Man series, told The Direct that a fourth Ant‑Man film would only move forward if Marvel Studios perceives sufficient fan interest. She emphasized that “if fans want something, we listen,” pointing to the studio’s history of reviving franchises driven by audience enthusiasm.

Newton’s comments come after the 2023 release of Ant‑Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which underperformed both critically and commercially despite a production budget exceeding $330 million and failing to recoup its costs. While she remains optimistic about a future sequel, she noted that key cast members such as Michael Douglas (Hank Pym) have stepped back from acting and Evangeline Lilly (Hope van Dyne) is on an indefinite hiatus, adding uncertainty to the franchise’s continuation. Both Newton and co‑star Paul Rudd are slated to appear in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, which may keep the characters in the MCU while a fourth Ant‑Man installment remains uncertain.
