Kathy Hochul launches ad campaign targeting Bruce Blakeman

New York Governor Kathy Hochul has launched a multi-million-dollar advertising campaign as she seeks a second term. The campaign includes two new 30-second advertisements released following a Siena Poll indicating that her Republican challenger, Bruce Blakeman, is closing the gap in the gubernatorial race.

One advertisement features Hochul in a Westchester pizzeria, highlighting her record on middle-class tax cuts, school meals, and utility company oversight. A second advertisement focuses on tying Blakeman to President Donald Trump, describing the Nassau County Executive as ‘100% MAGA’ and suggesting he would prioritize the president’s policies over those of the voters.

John McLaughlin, a pollster for the Blakeman campaign, criticized the move, suggesting the negative advertisements indicate the incumbent is concerned about her standing in the polls.
