Kathy Hochul leads Bruce Blakeman by 11 points in New York poll
A new Marist poll shows Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul holding an 11-point lead over Republican challenger Bruce Blakeman in the New York gubernatorial race, with Hochul at 53% and Blakeman at 42%.
Despite the overall lead, the data indicates Hochul is losing ground among independent voters, who favored Blakeman 49% to 42%. The candidates are also split evenly at 48% in the state's suburbs, though Hochul maintains a significant advantage in New York City with 69% support compared to Blakeman's 24%.
Blakeman criticized the poll as “woke” and predicted record turnout in New York City, while Hochul dismissed concerns regarding the narrowing margins, stating that a double-digit lead “means something.”
