Kathy Sáenz discusses acting retirement and personal life

Colombian actress Kathy Sáenz has shared insights regarding her decision to step away from acting. After a prolific career featuring productions such as ‘Amor a la plancha’, ‘Pura sangre’, and ‘La Gloria de Lucho’, Sáenz transitioned away from the screen approximately four years ago.

Sáenz explained that her departure was a spontaneous process that coincided with a period of personal discovery while living in Mexico for three years with her partner, Sebastián Martínez. She noted that the demanding nature of acting had left her feeling exhausted and that she felt she was unable to balance multiple projects effectively. She expressed a desire to prioritize her personal and family life, stating that she preferred to focus on self-discovery rather than returning to film sets.

Regarding her personal history, Sáenz was previously married to businessman Sammy Bessudo, with whom she has two daughters, Shenoa and Alana. Their marriage lasted between five and seven years, ending in 2005. Following her separation, she began a relationship with Sebastián Martínez, with whom she has a son, Amador.
