Katia Ricciarelli reflects on marriage to Pippo Baudo

Soprano Katia Ricciarelli has reflected on her 18-year relationship and marriage to the late television presenter Pippo Baudo, who passed away on August 16, 2025. Appearing on the program ‘La volta buona’, Ricciarelli described Baudo as a great artist who loved to laugh.

Discussing their separation in 2004, Ricciarelli attributed the breakdown to lifestyle differences and communication issues. She noted that while she traveled frequently, Baudo remained home more often for work, leading to ‘infinite silences’ that made it difficult to reconnect. She also candidly mentioned her own jealousy during the relationship.
