Katie Miller deletes post regarding federal raid on Rep. Ilhan Omar's home
Podcaster Katie Miller deleted a post on X that appeared to celebrate a federal raid on the Washington, D.C., residence of Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar. The original post, which read, “Promise made, promise kept,” was made in response to news of the search. Critics and journalists noted that the phrasing, a slogan used during the Trump administration, could imply advance knowledge of the operation.
Following the backlash, Miller replaced the message with a neutral statement praising Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents as “incredibly talented and professional.” Independent journalist Marcy Wheeler suggested the deleted post could pose legal risks for Miller in future depositions regarding potential coordination or prior awareness of the raid.
DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin has confirmed the investigation into Representative Omar. The federal search is part of a long-running criminal fraud probe concerning immigration paperwork related to Omar’s family and her status as a child refugee from Somalia.
