Katie Taylor prepares for final professional fight at Croke Park

Irish boxing champion Katie Taylor is set to compete in her final professional fight on September 5 at Croke Park. The event is expected to be a major national moment in Ireland, with RTÉ Head of Sport Declan McBennett predicting the broadcast will be one of the broadcaster’s largest of the year due to Taylor’s cross-generational appeal.

In recognition of her career, Lidl has renamed its Boghall Road store in Bray to ‘The Katie Taylor Lidl Store’ and unveiled a mural and plaque dedicated to the athlete. Taylor’s mother, Bridget, recently spoke about her daughter’s life outside the ring, noting that Taylor remains driven by success rather than fame and has recently settled into married life with her husband, Sean.
