AfD prepares for government role amid BSW political tensions FAST-MOVING

As the Saxony-Anhalt state election approaches, the AfD is actively preparing for potential government responsibility. The party has established the Schwarz-Rot-Gold Akademie GmbH in Berlin to provide professional training and personnel development for political and administrative roles. This academy utilizes a pool of dozens of lecturers to train second and third-tier staff in areas such as budget law and domestic policy.

Simultaneously, political tensions are rising within the Bündnis Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW). Thuringia state leader Katja Wolf has criticized party founder Sahra Wagenknecht for her stance toward the AfD, accusing her of offering the far-right party a power option. Wagenknecht has defended her position, stating she would support specific AfD proposals in Saxony-Anhalt, such as free school meals and state care funds, but would oppose measures like teacher reporting centers.

Wagenknecht also rejected debates regarding the withdrawal of financial equalization funds from Saxony-Anhalt in the event of an AfD victory, calling such discussions arrogant and polarizing.
