Katılım Emeklilik launches education insurance products in Turkey

Turkish insurer Katılım Emeklilik announced two new Sharia‑compliant education insurance plans – the Education Guarantee Katılım Sigortası and the School Installment Katılım Sigortası. The policies protect children’s schooling costs if a parent dies, becomes permanently disabled or loses a job. The Education Guarantee covers education expenses for insureds aged 18‑73, with a term of 2‑20 years and benefits sized to the child’s annual school costs. The School Installment product secures tuition instalment payments for families using the Albaraka Türk automatic instalment system, targeting insureds aged 18‑64 for a one‑year term.

Both products offer tax advantages and flexible premium payment options (lump‑sum, monthly or annual instalments). Katılım Emeklilik General Manager Ayhan Sincek emphasized that “education is an investment in the future, not an expense,” and said the offerings aim to relieve families’ biggest worry by ensuring children’s education continues uninterrupted regardless of unexpected life events.
