Katowice hosts national chess championship for students

The Spodek arena in Katowice is hosting the eleventh edition of the Synerise National School and Kindergarten Chess Championships. The event features over one thousand young participants, with registration lists filling up 40 days in advance.

Tournament director Łukasz Brożek noted that the early registration reflects a resurgence in the discipline. The competition aims to use chess as an educational tool to foster concentration and logical reasoning in children. To encourage continued interest in the sport, every participant will receive a prize and a gift package.
