Katowice hosts third Life Saving Festival

The third edition of the Life Saving Festival took place at the Market Square in Katowice. Organized by the Śląskie Anioły Foundation and the city of Katowice, the event aimed to promote safety awareness, first aid knowledge, and cooperation between residents and emergency services.

Katowice police officers participated in the event, offering guidance on how to react during life-threatening situations and how to report crimes or offenses. Officers also demonstrated the ‘Krajowa Mapa Zagrożeń Bezpieczeństwa’ (National Security Threat Map) application, which allows citizens to report areas requiring attention from authorities.

Educational activities included demonstrations of how alcohol affects perception and coordination using impairment goggles, as well as safety advice for urban, water, and mountain environments. The festival also featured a demonstration of a service dog used for patrolling the city.
