Katowice launches new entrepreneurship and local business support initiatives
Katowice is launching two major initiatives to support local entrepreneurship. The fourth edition of the ‘Practical Lesson of Entrepreneurship’ project has enrolled eight upper secondary schools. In this program, students work in three-person teams to develop business ideas, startups, or social ventures. The curriculum includes workshops led by practitioners, Business Model Canvas training, public speaking, and mentoring, culminating in a ‘Demo Day’ and a final gala in December.
Simultaneously, the city has launched the fourth edition of the ‘Buy Locally – Support Realistically’ campaign. This initiative encourages residents to support small and medium-sized local enterprises, ranging from cafes and restaurants to specialized service providers. Participating businesses receive promotional support through municipal social media and advertising videos, as well as special stickers to identify their involvement in the campaign.
