Katowice Police Host Family Picnic for the Community

Police officers from the Katowice City Command, the Prevenction Unit and the Counter‑Terrorism Sub‑unit organised a family picnic in Giszowiec Park to mark Police Day. The event featured a concert by the Katowice Police Orchestra with vocalist Justyna Hubczyk‑Piechota, demonstrations by police dog handlers, a horse‑riding unit from Częstochowa, and a showcase of the TUR vehicle.

Visitors could join safety competitions, learn about police recruitment, see traffic‑police vehicles and motorcycles, try fingerprinting stations, and watch a martial‑arts display. Local partner organisations offered first‑aid simulations, a crash‑test simulator, and other interactive activities. The day concluded with the commandant awarding prizes and recognitions to competition winners.

The picnic aimed to promote public‑police interaction, family friendship and safety education among residents of Katowice.
