Katowice police seek deportation of Ukrainian national after assault

An 18-year-old Ukrainian national, who was residing legally in Poland, was detained in Katowice following a violent incident on the night of August 29-30. The individual was reported to be running naked and behaving irrationally on Lwowska Street, near a police station.

According to reports, the man refused to follow police commands, resisted arrest, and approached officers with clenched fists. Multiple officers were required to subdue him after initial attempts proved difficult. Following the intervention, the man was taken to a hospital.

The individual has admitted to charges of violating the bodily integrity of a public official. In response to the incident, the Katowice police have submitted a request to the Polish Border Guard to initiate deportation proceedings to remove the individual from Polish territory.
