Katérina Papoutsaki urges collective action in interview on 'Lysistrata

Actress Katérina Papoutsaki spoke about the ancient Greek comedy 'Lysistrata' during a recent interview about her performance at the Epidaurus theatre. She highlighted the play’s message of collective action and gender‑based peace, saying, “the tool today is the voices of the people, the struggle for a just, human world.”

Papoutsaki reflected on her previous experience in the play, recalling a 2002 production directed by G. Michalakopoulos with co‑star Mirka Papakonstantinou. She argued that women, when in power, tend to adopt a more conciliatory and protective approach, and that true leadership is revealed when individuals assume authority.
