KATSEYE reaches number one on US Billboard 200 with ‘WILD’ EP

The global girl group KATSEYE has achieved its first number one on the US Billboard 200 album chart with its latest EP, ‘WILD’. Released on the 14th, the EP recorded 170,000 units in sales in the United States and also reached number two on the UK charts.

Formed through the ‘The Debut: Dream Academy’ project as a collaboration between HYBE and Geffen Records, the six-member group features members with diverse cultural roots from the US, South Korea, Switzerland, and the Philippines. Their success with ‘WILD’ places them alongside major female groups from the past decade, such as BLACKPINK, TWICE, and NewJeans.

Following the success of the EP and the single ‘Animal’, the group is set to begin its first world tour next month. Their recent creative direction has evolved from standard global pop toward more experimental sounds, incorporating elements of hyperpop and internet culture.
