Katsina APC crisis: Governor Radda’s security officers questioned in Abuja
A political rift within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State has escalated following the questioning of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda’s security personnel at the Force Headquarters in Abuja. The Governor’s Aide-de-Camp (ADC), SP Abdulganiyu Bello, and Chief Security Officer (CSO), DSP Hassan Bello, were reportedly summoned for questioning.
The dispute is linked to a power struggle between Governor Radda and Ibrahim Masari, the Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs. Reports suggest the questioning may stem from the alleged destruction of billboards in Katsina that featured images of Masari and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu while allegedly relegating the Governor’s image.
While some sources claim the officers are being detained, a spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Force, Anietie Iniedu, stated that the individuals were merely invited for an interview and were not arrested or detained. The internal party tension has been further exacerbated by the exclusion of Governor Radda and his associates from the party’s Presidential Campaign Council list.
