Katsina health workers suspend seven-day warning strike
The Assembly of Health Care Professionals of Katsina State has suspended its seven-day warning strike following an intervention by Governor Dikko Radda. The industrial action, which began on October 14, was initiated over unresolved issues regarding professional allowances and the implementation of the Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS).
Following a meeting on October 16, the state government committed to reopening negotiations and establishing a Joint Technical Committee to resolve outstanding grievances. This committee will be tasked with reviewing hazard, call duty, and shift duty allowances, as well as addressing the CONHESS 10 skipping issue for qualified officers in accordance with the Scheme of Service.
The suspension took effect at midnight on October 18, with health workers directed to resume full clinical and administrative services across the state's health facilities.
