Katsina State launches data-driven development and inclusive governance plans

Katsina State Governor Dikko Umar Radda has launched a series of strategic documents aimed at driving sustainable development through data-driven governance. The initiative includes the Katsina State Development Plan, the State Social Protection Policy, and a Multi-Sectoral Strategic Plan of Action for Food and Nutrition, alongside a State Nutrition Policy and a Statistical Yearbook.

Represented by Deputy Governor Faruk Jobe, Radda emphasized that the administration will prioritize credible data and evidence for planning, budgeting, and implementing programs. The development plan identifies key priority sectors such as agriculture, education, healthcare, infrastructure, industrialization, security, and digital innovation. The framework is designed to align with the state’s ‘Building Your Future’ policy and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.

In a separate effort toward social cohesion, Governor Radda assured non-indigenous residents of the state that they remain integral to Katsina’s growth. He pledged that the administration would maintain inclusive governance, ensuring that non-indigenous communities continue to benefit from state infrastructure, development initiatives, and economic programs.
