Katsuya rolls out new Light and Heavy menu lines in Japan on July 27

Japanese pork‑cutlet chain Katsuya announced a refresh of its Grand Menu effective 27 July 2026. The change introduces a "Light" series with reduced rice portions, such as Katsu‑don Light, Sauce Katsu‑don Light and Negi‑taru Chicken Katsu‑don Light, priced around ¥649‑¥660. A contrasting "Heavy" series offers larger, protein‑rich bowls like the Taru‑tama Mix Pork Bowl, Taru‑tama Mix Fry Bowl, Mix Katsu Set and Taru‑tarl Mix Heavy Set, priced between ¥1,210 and ¥1,240. The existing pork‑grilled‑meat lineup is also revamped with new pork bowl and pork‑grilled‑meat‑with‑roast dishes. The dual approach aims to satisfy customers seeking generous portions as well as those preferring lighter rice portions.
