Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom face subpoenas in real estate dispute
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are facing potential subpoenas in an ongoing legal dispute regarding the sale of a $15 million estate in Montecito, California. Businessman Carl Westcott, the former owner of the property, has requested to question the former couple about outstanding payments.
Westcott claims that while Perry made a $900,000 payment in June, the full balance of the sale has not been transferred. The legal conflict dates back to 2020, when Westcott initially attempted to cancel the sale, arguing he was unable to make an informed decision following spinal surgery. Although Westcott lost a previous case regarding the validity of the sale, the financial dispute continues.
Perry’s business manager, Bernie Gudvi, has opposed the request for subpoenas, arguing there is no emergency requiring court intervention and suggesting the request is intended to harass the celebrities. Gudvi also noted that remaining funds are tied up in a separate dispute involving $3 million allegedly owed to him. A judge has yet to rule on whether Perry and Bloom must testify.
