Katy Perry performs at Fenapo 2026 in San Luis Potosí
American singer Katy Perry performed at the Teatro del Pueblo during the Feria Nacional Potosina (Fenapo) 2026 in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. The event drew a crowd of approximately 200,000 people.
During the performance, a linguistic misunderstanding occurred when the audience began chanting ‘mucha ropa’ (too much clothing), a common Mexican phrase used when an artist wears many layers. Perry initially misheard the chant and told the crowd via microphone, ‘I thought they were saying puta loca’. After a member of her production team explained the actual meaning, the singer laughed and continued the show.
Perry also incorporated Mexican cultural elements into her attire, wearing a blazer with a United States flag tie and a charro-style hat featuring the colors of the Mexican flag.
