While the BBC stated that commercial deals are permitted, guidelines prohibit the use of the ‘Strictly’ and BBC brands to generate profit. Producers reportedly requested that Jones make changes to the video and its social media wording to ensure compliance with these rules.

Separately, Jones addressed recent speculation regarding a viral moment from the show. After viewers and commentators suggested she mouthed the word ‘fit’ while watching actor Lawrence Robb perform, Jones clarified via message to former partner Ed Balls that she actually said ‘fierce’.
